Here is a great example of a classroom technique used for managing behavior but being subtle about it at the same time.

Each day students will earn one penny for making great choices and demonstrating self-control in the classroom. While students will keep the coins they earn at school, they will be utilize "penny cards" to communicate the child's behavior to the parents for the day. If the child makes great choices and earns a penny then they will come home with a green penny card. If the child did not earn a penny for the day they will come home with a red penny card which will explain the reason why your child did not earn their penny. Throughout the year the classroom should have a school store where the child can use the money they earned to buy small toys. This will also help them learn the skills of identifying and counting coins.
